DR. MARGARET A. REED, BS, MBA, PHD, APDT 
Director/Owner

Dr. Margaret A. (Peggy) Reed has been training dogs since 1968. She has accumulated a variety of awards for canine training including numerous AKC titles and Public Service commendations. She is also licensed by the American Kennel Club as a conformation judge. Her training has included work for Law Enforcement agencies, Government officials, Television and movie productions as well as the all-around family pet and show dog. Professional associations include the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Dog Judges Association of America, Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, The James A. Baker Institute for Animal Research, National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors and is certified as an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.


PATRICIA (Patti) FERNANDES, M.S., CPDT, APDT, AKC CGC EVALUATOR

Patti joins CTBS LLC with a lifetime passion for dogs. With over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience in the public school systems she will primarily concentrate on the practical aspects of households obedience issues. She will work with families to provide their dogs with guidance and principles necessary to develop a good canine citizen. As a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Patti is also involved in teaching classes and certifying dogs at community sponsored events. 

Patti is very active with many local shelters and brings years of experience working with socially challenged dogs and helps network lifetime homes for these animals. Patti holds formal degrees from Illinois State University and Southern Connecticut State University BS in Science, Masters in Psychology and Sixth Year in School Health.


NINA SETURINS, AKC CGC EVALUATOR 

Nina has loved animals, especially dogs and horses, all her life. Nina started her obedience career with CTBS LLC, with a Beagle puppy, named Cleo in 1993. Her goal was simple-take basic obedience classes to get Cleo to pay attention. After 6 weeks, she and Cleo were hooked! They went on to earn and AKC  Companion Dog Title in August of 1995 and switched to Agility, which proved to be where Cleo's talents could really shine. They competed lighty and over time, completed AKC Open level standard and Jumpers titles. Cleo achieved national ranking as the #2 Open Agility Beagle in Front and Finish Magazine for the year 2000.

Nina joined the CTBS training staff in 2001and now concentrates her efforts with the CTBS Agility program. She says, "Nothing is better than seeing dogs and handlers starting out knowing nothing, and week by week, watching them conquer new challenges and having fun together. That's what canine training is all about.


CAROLANNE KEELY, B.S., M.S.

Carolanne joined the CTBS staff in 2004 as an instructor for Family Obedience and Agility classes. With a life long interest in all animals, she hold a B.S. degree from the University of Connecticut in Biology and Animal Science as well as an M.S. degree in Microbiology/Biology from the University of Bridgeport. Her vast experience in veterinary science provides a broad background and experience with all types of canine personalities. She has also done extensive work with Border Collie rescue and the local 4H Club 

Carolanne shares her home with her husband Dan and their 2 children Sarah and Adam as well as 4 dogs, horses, goats, cats, chickens and parrots. She is an enthusiastic advocate for obedience training for the family companion and speaks to civic groups regarding the importance of early training.
